Insurance / Payment / Billing

Wilmington Hearing Specialists is a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, Tri-Care, BCBS, UHC, Med-cost, CIGNA and others. Please contact your insurance company or you may call our office at (910) 791-4755 to find out if we accept your insurance plan.

Hearing testing is generally covered by most insurance companies. Medicare covers diagnostic hearing testing when the test is ordered by a physician and the test is being done to assist the physician in developing a treatment plan.

Hearing aids are not generally covered by health insurance companies, although some do. Our insurance specialist, Linda Parker, will call your insurance to find out your benefits for hearing aids. Medicare does not cover hearing aids.

In North Carolina, Medicaid and North Carolina-based health insurance companies do have a hearing aid benefit and do cover diagnostic hearing testing for children under the age of 21.

There are non-profit organizations that provide assistance for hearing aids when financial criteria are met. Dr. Maddock will discuss these options as necessary.

Remember: you insurance is a contract between yourself and your insurance company. Wilmington Hearing Specialists will file your insurance as a courtesy for covered charges.

If your insurance plan requires you to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you will need to pay at the time of your visit. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Care Credit.

If you have a question related to your bill or insurance, please contact our office at (910) 791-4755.
