Insurance

Hearing testing is generally covered by most insurance companies. Medicare does cover diagnostic hearing testing when the test is ordered by a physician and the test is being done to assist the physician in developing a treatment plan.

Hearing aids are not generally covered by health insurance companies, although some do. Our insurance specialist, Linda Parker, will call your insurance to find out yur benefits for hearing aids. Medicare does not cover hearing aids.

In North Carolina, medicaid and North Carolina based health insurance companies do have a hearing aid benefit and do cover diagnostic hearing testing for children under the age of 21.

There are non-profit organizations that provide ssistance for hearing aids when financial criteria are met. Dr. Maddock will discuss these options as necessary.

Remember: you insurance is a contract between yourself and your insurance company. Wilmington Hearing Specialist will file your insurance as a courtesy for covered charges.
